Pattern testing and tech editing
Catch mistakes before your buyers do.
Testers find what you can't
You know your pattern too well to see its gaps. Two to five testers with different skill levels will find unclear lines and wrong counts.
Running a test
- Give a clear deadline (usually 2–4 weeks)
- Ask for photos and notes on any line they re-read
- Share one feedback form so answers are easy to compare
- Thank testers in the pattern or with a free copy
Tech editing
A tech editor checks the maths, the terms and the consistency line by line. For paid patterns, especially sized garments, it is worth the cost.
