CrochetStudio is operated by Swecraftcorner, which is the data controller for the personal data described here. That means we decide why and how your data is used, and we are responsible for looking after it. Contact us any time at support@swecraftcorner.com.
What we collect and why
- Account details — your email address, password (stored encrypted, never in readable form), display name and sign-in method. We need these to create your account and let you sign in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Your patterns and photos — the pattern text, materials, notes, step photos and captions you create. We store these so your library works. Photos are kept in private storage that only your own account can read. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Designer profile details — the designer name, copyright line, website and Instagram, Etsy or Ravelry handles you choose to enter, so we can print them in your PDFs. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Subscription records — your plan, its status and renewal date, and the customer and subscription identifiers we receive from Paddle. We never see or store your card number. Legal basis: performance of our contract, and our legal obligations around accounting.
- Support messages — what you write to us and our replies, so we can help you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in supporting our customers.
- Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, log and error data, and basic usage counts such as how many PDFs you have downloaded. We use these to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, apply plan limits and fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working service.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your patterns or photos to train AI models.
Who we share it with
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles the sale, checkout, subscription management, payments, invoicing and sales tax compliance, and receives the data needed to do that.
- Service providers — the hosting, database, file storage and authentication providers that run CrochetStudio on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect your data.
- Professional advisers — for example accountants or lawyers, where needed.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose data by law.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the EEA. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision or by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, together with appropriate security measures.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data, patterns and photos for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your content within 30 days, except records we must keep longer for accounting and tax purposes (normally seven years). Technical logs are kept for a short period only.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. Email support@swecraftcorner.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority — in Sweden that is Integritetsskydds myndigheten (IMY).
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted password storage, private photo storage with per-account access rules, and restricted internal access.
Cookies
CrochetStudio uses essential cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your PDF style choices and your custom abbreviation buttons, and to run checkout securely. We do not use advertising cookies.
We also use Google Analytics (provided by Google) to measure how the site is used: pages viewed, and actions such as signing up, starting checkout, downloading a pattern, and joining a pattern test, together with device, browser and approximate location data and an analytics cookie identifier. In the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland we only do this after you say yes; elsewhere it is on by default. Your choice and the time you made it are saved in your browser. You can change it at any time: .
Changes
If we update this notice, we will post the new version here and change the date at the top. See also our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
